about

Half The Universe (is missing), was written as a reaction to the terrible shootings and the bomb attack in Norway on 22.07.11. A lot of people lost their lives. Even more people lost loved ones. It is hoped that the track might help people to talk about what happened, purely by existing. The track is released on 05.11.13 and will be available as a free download. It will also appear on streaming services like Spotify and WiMP.
The song was recorded in London, Bergen and Helsinki. The mastering was done by Miles Showell at Abbey Road.

lyrics

Half the Universe

a wet summer day went dark before our eyes
an aluminium cloud hangs here in the sky
loved ones taken loss untold
bodies empty fingers cold

we lay ourselves down and we need holding
our sun is fading
and our stars they are imploding

after tonight we slowly begin
to grasp what happened to the country we live in
bullets came and ripped through the air
ripped holes into our hearts and what should be here

we lay ourselves down and we need holding
our sun is fading and our stars they are imploding
we need to rest now I hope someone's listening
our sun is fading
half the universe is missing

strings

we line the streets we march together
we lost our innocence but our dreams they can't be shattered
our hands are folded and they hold roses
we need to join them join hands no matter who the foe is

strings

we lay ourselves down and we need holding our sun has faded
but our stars they keep imploding
just hold me close now our tide is shifting
our sun will shine even
if half the universe is missing

half the universe is missing

half the universe is missing

about

Amphibic Records London, UK

Best described as ‘quirky singer-songwriter plus orchestra’. Chamber-Pop meets Indie. The band has morphed into this from their former incarnation as an Indie-Pop band. They feature a string quartet and a growing brass section around drums, guitar, piano and vocals, creating a lush backdrop for Neal’s voice to be at home in. Amphibic have leant their cello player to the Divine Comedy once. ... more
